Well met, space cadet, and welcome to the first edition of what I’m calling World of Westward. This will be a weekly email designed to give you a behind-the-scenes peek at the state of Page of Pulp, encourage your participation and invite your feedback.
A few months ago, I set aside another creative project that I had been fleshing out and made a decision to revive Page of Pulp. That story is briefly outlined here. The main message I want to communicate here is that I’m committed to not only continuing to write Westward for the duration of 2024, but also to expanding on it. But I need your help.
Currently, PoP has just over 50 subscribers, and numbers indicate that about half of those subscribers may be regular readers. Only a handful of you leave feedback with any regularity. That makes you extremely important. Your interaction right now, along with the patient support of my wife, is what gives me the motivation to keep creating in a public and structured way.
The #1 priority for PoP in 2024 is, obviously, to get more readers. The current subscriber base is, by any measure, very small. More subscribers equals more energy, more momentum, more possibilities. With that in mind, our first goal will be to reach 100 subscribers. When that benchmark is reached, I’ll add some new feature to PoP to celebrate, and your feedback will help me to determine what that feature is. I have a lot of ideas for 2024 and beyond, and you can play a crucial role today in helping me to prioritize how to spend time wisely.
But today, let’s get personal:
You may have ideas of your own that are not represented on this poll, and I encourage you to leave me a note with more detailed feedback.
I’m excited to have you on board as we determine the future of Westward. Thanks for your time. Be seeing you!
A single pic per episode would be great. One a week would be ok,. About half the time and randomly spaced (pun?) would be fine too. I like your art and it does add interest.
(and I LOVE that radio on the mantle!)
